Workshop on representations and
structures of algebras at Beijing Normal University
May 17-21, 2004
Announcement:
Brief introduction of the
(advanced) workshop
This workshop
is supported by the "985 Program" of Beijing Normal University in
the name of "Representation Theory and Related Topics", the project
fits the purpose of the
Education Ministry of China to train and bring up new qualified generations in
academic researches in Chinese universities and colleges. Under the approval
by the Training Centre of the Ministry, the School of Mathematical
Sciences of Beijing Normal University
will host the (advanced) workshop on "Representations and
Structures of Algebras"
at BNU from 17 May to 21 May 2004.
Main topics of the workshop
This time we focus mainly on the following subjects:
Some advances in homological representations and structures of artin algebras
(including flat cover conjecture, finitistic dimension conjecture, Stable equivalences, and so on).
Some advances in combinatorial methods in representation theory (including basis-method, bilinear forms, and so on).
Schur-Weyl duality, dominant dimension and tilting theory; mainly including symmetric groups, Hecke algebras, Schur algebras, and Brauer algebras, tilting theory and
its applications as well as the general relationship between tiling theory and
Schur-Weyl duality.
During the workshop, we shall also introduce some related research questions.
